Administrative law
Onze bijstand

In administrative law, the citizen is opposed to the government. The government can take certain decisions that affect the citizen. However, when making these decisions, the government must adhere to certain rules. These rules are laid down in the General Administrative Law Act (Awb).

It may happen that you cannot agree with the decision that the government has taken. In most cases, you will then end up in the objection phase. The objection phase means that you submit the administrative body to review the decision taken, possibly with additional statements from your side.

If the objection phase is not successful, the step can be taken to the administrative court. We call this the appeal phase. On the other hand, you can only take legal action against a decision of an administrative body if you have an interest in the decision taken.

Since the Awb consists of a complex system of many rules, it is wise to challenge a decision with a lawyer at your side. Don't worry, our office will gladly assist you in every phase of this administrative law process.
